The president of the Federation of Teachers of Puerto Rico, Mercedes Martínez, stated on RADIO ISLA that “gender perspective saves lives” and that “people must educate themselves.”
“Gender perspective and gender perspective education saves lives and it’s a shame that people don’t know what it’s about. People who talk about the gender perspective, for the most part, are not fully aware of what the perspective is about and, to me, that’s unfortunate,” said Martínez.
For his part, the president of Puerto Rican Society of Pediatrics, Gerard Tosca, also favored education with a gender perspective. “Definitely yes”, answered Tosca when asked if it is important for her to have education with a gender perspective.
