STARKVILLE – Mississippi State is looking for its third straight win after the No. 1 Bulldogs. 23 hosts No. 25 Arkansas in an 11 a.m. game at Davis Wade Stadium. Mississippi State vs. Arkansas Updates

– FINAL – Mississippi State 40, Arkansas 17 – More coming soon on HailState.com!

– And now, the reigning SEC Defensive Player of the Week Emmanuel Forbes take a choice! State’s own 20 ball with 7:23 to play. 40-17 lead over Arkansas.

– BULLDOG TOUCHDOWN! Jo’quavious signs it’s the man who crosses the goal line this time. The two-yard run is the highlight of a six-play, 70-yard drive. The PAT is no good, but Mississippi State leads Arkansas 40-17 with 10:28 left.

– Now the Dawgs end an Arkansas drive with one Jackie Matthews choose! And Davis Wade is going wild! State is still up 34-17, looking for more.

– The aforementioned Dillon Johnson downhill running…

– BULLDOG TOUCHDOWN! MSU responds immediately! It’s a seven-play, 75-yard drive capped by a 30-yard TD run by Dillon Johnson. Ben Raybon The PAT is good and Mississippi State leads Arkansas 34-17 with 54 seconds left in the third quarter.

– Touchdown Arkansas. Pigs bond in a big game. The 56-yard pass gets them into the end zone. PAT is good. Mississippi State’s lead is now 27-17 with 3:33 left in the third quarter.

– By the way, today we have a birthday boy at home…

– State unable to go much on the offensive. Dawgs punt and Arkansas takes over on their own 20. 5:53 left in the third quarter with State still leading 27-10.

– And here was that goal line stand by the MSU D that has now turned the Bulldogs on offense:

– Arkansas really goes for it and the DAWGS STAY TALL! Landing turnover. MSU ball. Dawgs at their 1-yard line with 8:16 left in the third quarter. State still leads 27-10.

– Arkansas moved the ball to the MSU 2 and had a first and goal. The Dawg D has stood tall and it’s now 4th and goal from the 1. The Hogs would make it, but a timeout was called on MSU.

– BULLDOG TOUCHDOWN! And our first celebration of the day with duck movements like Caleb Ducking capped a six-play, 58-yard drive with a 33-yard TD reception on a throw from Will Rogers. The Dawgs fumble the PAT attempt so it’s unsuccessful, but MSU leads Arkansas 27-10 with 11:16 left in the third quarter.

– And Dawg D follows by forcing a three-and-out. Good start for the state in the third quarter.

– The second half begins and it begins with Arkansas unable to handle the start. It rolls into the end zone after closing. The Hogs barely come out and the Dawgs stop Arkansas on their own.

– FIRST HALF: Mississippi State 21, Arkansas 10

– MSU’s 40-yard field goal attempt is no good. MSU’s lead remains 21-10 with 13 seconds left in the half.

– Mississippi State has moved to the Arkansas 22, trying to get points before the half. The field goal test is coming…

– And Arkansas quickly finds the end zone for a touchdown. Three plays and 71 yards. A 68-yard pass took the Hogs to the 3-yard line before they punted. After the PAT, MSU’s lead is now 21-10 with 1:11 left in the half.

– MSU’s ensuing drive stalls on a fourth-and-short in Arkansas territory. Pigs take over on their own 29.

– Arkansas gets on board. The Hogs drive into MSU territory and score on a 51-yard field goal. Mississippi State’s lead is now 21-3 with 5:56 left in the first half.

– BULLDOG TOUCHDOWN! Will Rogers has to scramble a bit, then finds a teammate (and roommate) Austin Williams for the result! 10 yard TD pass and an incredible diving catch by Williams! Ben Raybon with the PAT and it’s now a 21-0 Mississippi State lead over Arkansas. 9:03 left in the half.

– Dawg D forces a 3-and-out. Thomas the Tank Engine returns an Arkansas punt at the Hog 40, so much field position for the Dawgs. Still 14-0 State with 12:05 left in the second quarter.

– Well, the MSU drive doesn’t score, but ends up with a fantastic shot Archer Trafford. Jaden Walley it lands inside the Hog 1-yard line and that’s where Arkansas will start.

– END OF THE FIRST ROUND: Mississippi State 14, Arkansas 0 – And the Dawgs are on the move again. State is at the Arkansas 35 when play resumes.

Will Rogers just set the SEC record for career completions!

– Arkansas found an offensive life, but it comes up empty. The Hogs made a change at QB and Malik Hornsby immediately broke off a 52-yard run to put Arkansas deep in State territory. But within 10, the car stalled. The Dawgs held to a 4th-and-short. Turnover on downs and MSU takes over at the 8 with 1:56 left in the first quarter. Dawgs still lead 14-0.

– The Rogers-to-Walley connection through the lens of…

– BULLDOG TOUCHDOWN! Will Rogers crashes and finds Jaden Walley into the end zone to polish off a 12-play, 55-yard drive. The ball bounced off the fingertips of an Arkansas defender and Walley hauled it in! Ben Raybon The PAT makes Mississippi State’s lead 14-0 over Arkansas with 4:10 left in the first quarter.

– The aforementioned Tyrus wheat sack…

– Dawg D shines in her first appearance today. Arkansas managed a first down, but that was it. or Tyrus wheat the sack completes the Hog car. Arkansas punts and State takes over at its own 45 looking to extend its early lead to 7-0.

– Here was that TD from Dillon Johnson that has the Dawgs on top early:

– BULLDOG TOUCHDOWN! Dillon Johnson with a run of two meters. Ben Raybon with the extra point. Mississippi State leads Arkansas 7-0 with 11:15 left in the first quarter.

– On the back side of 28 yards rushes from Dillon Johnson and a great passing game for him Austin WilliamsThe Dawgs are already knocking on the door inside the Arkansas 10-yard line.

– For that time! Arkansas has won the coin toss and punted, so the MSU Air Raid offense will be on the field first here in a few moments!
