BUSHNELL – 64th The free annual Bushnell Town and Country Fall Festival will take place at East Park in Bushnell from Thursday August 24th to Saturday August 27th.
For entertainment this year, a local band, “Old Dogs, New Tricks” will perform Thursday at 7:30. At 7:30 Friday, “Dogs of Society,” an Elton John tribute band, and “Heartache Tonight,” an Eagles tribute band that was most recently at the Orpheum in Galesburg, will perform Saturday at 7 p.m. :30. A beer tent will also be open at these times.
Dave Stuaan, a member of the committee says they have been able to adapt to the ever-changing climate in line with entertainment and other trends.
“We’re still here, we’re still going strong,” he said.
The event was created as an appreciation by community merchants for the community. Stuaan notes that it has changed a lot over the years, but is still very much run by local vendors and traders.
The pie and cake auction will be at 2pm on Saturday. This event is the biggest fundraiser of the festival, as the entertainment at the festival is free.
Boden Amusement, a local group, will also be on hand with the carnival. The tours are paid and will be available from Wednesday to Saturday.
A parade will begin at 5.30pm on Thursday. It starts at the high school and runs all the way downtown down West Main St and back up to E Main St.
