Fans have been waiting three years for the return of the popular HBO series scary, and the second season trailer was officially released on Wednesday (August 24) featuring some familiar faces.
The Spanish and English-language comedy follows “a group of friends who turn their love of horror into a niche business, providing horror to those who need it, in a dreamy Latin American country where the weird and the scary are alone part of everyday life,” according to HBO’s website.
The new trailer finds Renaldo (Bernardo Velasco), haunted by the ghost of a beauty pageant queen, while Úrsula (Cassandra Ciangherotti) takes on the political status quo. Úrsula’s sister Tati (Ana Fabrega) goes through life as a newlywed, and Renaldo’s best friend Andrés (Julio Torres) is on the verge of battling his inner (real) demons. Uncle Tico (Fred Armisen) also appears in the trailer, searching for his next steps after his career as a butler goes off the rails.
Kim Petras makes her television debut as Secretary of State Kimberly Reynolds, who is introduced emerging from a limousine in a floral bralette and pink skirt, holding a massive bar of Toblerone chocolates.
The best way to see the chillers is to sign up for HBO Max. The streaming service has expanded to two subscription tiers: ad-supported and commercial-free. The platform also introduced a free tier last year, which only lets you watch certain episodes. HBO Max paid subscriptions start at $9.99 ($99.99 per year) for ad-supported streaming, or $14.99 per month ($149.99 per year) for ad-free viewing.
