The executive director of the Authority for Public-Private Partnerships (AAPP), Fermín Fontanés, assured today on RADIO ISLA that “LUMA is in compliance with the contract”.
“At the moment, without having the results of any investigation being carried out, LUMA is in compliance with the contract”, said Fontanés. However, Fontanés stated that “they must do much more”.
Fermín Fontanés explained that the Energy Bureau is conducting investigations regarding the company’s performance and that, depending on these results, it will be possible to “enter into discussions as to whether” LUMA has respected the contract or not.
For his part, PROMESA Law expert, lic. Rolando Emanuelli emphasized that there are three possible options for canceling the agreement. These are because the contract is invalid because it is against the law, for violation or because there is an additional contract that expires on November 30.
