Malmesbury Carnival is back with a full month-long line-up of events for the first time in three years.
The Covid pandemic meant a virtual carnival in 2020 and last year there was no procession.
But this August features a host of events, from the Scarecrow Trail which runs until the 26th, tours, tastings, workshops, music and a fun fair.
There is a family fun day on August 13 from 2pm to 6pm at Malmesbury Victoria FC ground, a quiz night at Wesleyan Hall on August 18 and a Soirée du Jazz on August 20.
The ever-popular Petticoat Lane is on the High Street on August 21 between 10am and 3pm. There is a Carnival Arts workshop on the weekend of August 27 and 28 where people can make their own procession costumes.
Music in the abbey cloisters follows on 29 August and Danters Fun Far is set on 1 September.
The finale comes on the weekend of September 3, when Flying Monk 10 kicks off at 9am.
Then, at 6:00 p.m., the procession departs and winds its way through the city center, watched by the crowd.
Organized by a committee of volunteers, it has raised hundreds of thousands of pounds for local good causes and charities in the years since it began more than a century ago.
