Schedule full and sleigh ready, Santa Claus is in full swing for Christmas 2022
Ho! Ho! Ho! With a busy schedule and a sleigh at the ready, Limachem Cherem, founder of the Santa Claus School in Brazil, is in full swing. The scenario requires breath, love and a lot of physical preparation. In three days, he will experience dozens of different attention-grabbing experiences: a competition to choose the most charming Santa Claus in Rio; visiting Carioca families to deliver gifts; sending basic food baskets to “other good elders”; The Christmas parade with the distribution of gifts to children in Realengo and the “Barbas de Molho” event in Tijuca, with the traditional walk through Praça Afonso Pena, in Tijuca.
Does Santa Claus get presents too? Yes! The traditional delivery of Christmas Baskets for ‘good old people’ will take place on Tuesday 20th December from 9am to noon. The social action will be held in the courtyard of the Estácio de Sá Samba school, on Av. Salvador de Sá, 206-208 – Cidade Nova. 40 Christmas kits will be delivered.
At the same time, voting is open for OSCAR NOEL 2022, the competition that will choose the three most charming Santa Clauses in the malls of Rio. On December 24, Saturday, Santa Claus Limachem Cherem will start the Day of Family Visits (contract action), from 17:00 to 02:00, for the delivery of gifts to private parties. At each visit there are Christmas carols, a welcome to the participants, a photo moment and ending with a message of peace.
On December 25, Sunday, at 9 am, Santa Claus Limachem Cherem holds the Christmas Parade with the distribution of toys for the children of Realengo. “Baggy Santa Claus” has been out for 30 years and is eagerly awaited by the small inhabitants of the country. The Christmas parade starts at Rua Dilson Funaro, 23, in Jardim Novo-Realengo.
During the journey, Santa Claus makes two stops: the first in front of the Tasso da Silveira municipal school, where the 12 students Karine, Rafael, Igor, Samir, Laryssa Martins, Milena, Gessica, Bianca, Mariana, Luiza, Laryssa Atanázio and Ana Carolina (12 to at 15) was shot dead in an attack by a former schoolgirl on April 7, 2011. Undoubtedly, all these actions generate a sense of well-being and joy for those who are welcomed, but also a sense of ‘duty accomplished’ towards the creator of it all.
“When I return home on the 26th, after all the activities are over, my feeling is one of happiness and a job well done. I make private visits to the noble areas of Rio, I distribute gifts to children in need, I am also involved in recognizing the good work of the School’s students, in the end even Santa Claus receives gifts and finally in the meeting.
