Maurício Mattar & Orquestra Vibrart trazem sucessos das novelas ao Teatro João Caetano

Maurício Mattar performs in a romantic and special tour with the Vibrart Orchestra at the João Caetano Theater, downtown Rio de Janeiro (RJ). The show, consisting of reinterpretations of romantic classics, telenovelas and unpublished ones in the voice of the singer, took the form of a spectacle, with the 9 musicians of the most charming orchestra in Niterói. The presentation on Thursday, November 17, begins at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are on sale now through Eleven Tickets.

During the show, Maurício Mattar gives voice to the songs that are in everyone’s emotional memory, such as Nada erases this passion, Menina Princesa and Tê rri me ty. The accompaniment of the orchestra creates the special atmosphere of the big groups, to relive the moments of these almost 30 years in which the singer and actor has thrilled the public with his beautiful voice and fascinating performance.

“The fans are the big fuel in this emotion machine. The public’s breathing, the screaming… The fan is part of the show,” he says.

30 soap operas, gold and platinum records

Discovered in Brazil as an actor in 1984, in the soap opera Roque Santeiro, Maurício Mattar fell in love with music at the age of 14.

“In 1978, it hit me watching musicals with Fred Astaire, Frank Sinatra, Elvis Presley, among others. I already played the guitar, but in a very amateur way. I started composing and trying to create melodies with the chords I learned. That’s when I decided to take the theater course at Tablado, by Maria Clara Machado. I joined a very nice group, with Andrea Beltrão, Pedro Cardoso, Fernanda Torres”.

As an actor, there are almost 30 telenovelas, in addition to seven films. And in all these moments the guitar was also present. Maurício Mattar never stopped recording, playing and composing.

Combining one novel with another, in 1993, Maurício was invited to record the first song on the soundtrack of the novel Mulheres de Areia, “Encontro das Águas”, by Jorge Vercilo. The success was so great that it prompted the artist to sign with Sony Music releasing his second hit, “Much Romantic”, on the telenovela Tropicaliente.

He released his first album in 1994, the same year he made A Viagem. That’s when Maurício decided to take a break from his acting career and take up his music career, touring with sold-out shows, Monday through Saturday.

During his career, he recorded eight studio albums, in addition to the DVD 20 years of Music, released in 2014; and 15 songs on soap opera soundtracks, which earned gold and platinum records and tours across the country.

“There is no better environment to celebrate these almost 30 years of music than the stage. I am very happy to receive this affection from the public”, he celebrates.
