The Quito Metro Corporation on Monday invited the Franco-Colombian company Metro de Medellín-Transdev to continue negotiations for the operation of the new transport system, which is scheduled to start this year.
The consortium formed by the two companies has submitted a bid worth $129.9 million to operate Quito’s subway for six years, according to digital portal Primicias.
The Quito Metro will run 22.6 km from one end of the city to the other, stopping at 15 stations.
