After posting text messages to various municipalities in the Mexican state of Guanajuato, several assassins recorded themselves releasing a message saying that the state is under the control of the Jalisco Nueva Generación (CJNG) Cartel.
“All of Guanajuato already has one owner and it’s Mr. ‘Mencho.’ [CJNG leader]. Sincerely, the ‘Elite’ group. Come and fight dirty people who kill innocents,” the killers are heard saying as they recorded themselves leaving messages in municipalities such as Irapuato, Celaya and Apaseo el Grande.
