Mexico found 50 pre-Hispanic archaeological pieces returned by individuals from several countries, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced.
The Foreign Ministry reported that it handed over “more than 50 pre-Hispanic archaeological pieces found by Mexican embassies and consulates abroad, which private individuals voluntarily presented to Mexican embassies and consulates in various countries.”
The Federal Ministry of Culture received the historical parts that “based on the Law on Monuments and Archaeological, Artistic and Historical Areas, are part of the cultural heritage of our country”, says a statement.
The parts were voluntarily returned to Mexican embassies in Austria, Canada and Sweden. . .
