Young Miss Indonesia plays an active role in her community and has a very high concern for the issues of poverty and education in her country. She believes that education is a very powerful tool to fight poverty. A quote from Mother Teresa “Not all of us can do great things, but we can do small things with great love” is her motto in life.
Indonesia has yet to win the Miss World crown, but has done very well in the international pageant in recent years with a number of placings and two runner-up finishes courtesy of Maria Harfanti and Natasha Mannuela Halim in 2015 and 2016 respectively.
