Karolína Michalčíková beat 11 other finalists to be crowned Miss Universe Slovakia 2022 on Sunday, September 11 at the Ministry of Entertainment in Banská Bystrica.
The 23-year-old beauty from Trenčín is a make-up artist and a student of human resources and personnel management. She will represent the Slovak Republic in the 71st Miss Universe pageant.
Klaudia Korlová, 20, from Košice, and Mária Glatzová, 25, from Prešov were named first and second runners-up respectively.
The new Miss Universe Slovakia succeeds last year’s titleholder Veronika Ščepánková, who was nominated to represent her country at the 70th Miss Universe pageant in Israel.
Last April, Karolína was also awarded the Miss Costa title at a special event sponsored by the pageant’s main partner Costa Cruises.
Slovakia has yet to win the Miss Universe pageant. The country’s highest placing was in 1994 with its first representative Silvia Lakatošová, who finished in the Top 6.
