Oh Wei Qi was crowned Miss World Singapore 2022 in a glittering pageant held on Saturday, September 10 at the state-of-the-art Theater at Mediacorp.
The 23-year-old artist and entrepreneur will now prepare to represent Singapore at the 71st Miss World pageant. She succeeds last year’s title holder Khailing Ho.
“Everything feels so surreal, it feels like a dream,” she wrote in a statement on social media and recalled how she first joined the competition in 2021.
“It was my first pageant experience and definitely what taught me the beauty of Miss World and the possibilities I can do to give back to society,” she said.
She also added: “It showed me that my dreams aren’t as far off as they seem if I’m not willing to give up.”
Also crowned at the same event were Miss Intercontinental Singapore 2022 Gerlyn Cheah and Miss Globe Singapore 2022 Saranya Chyenne. They will compete in the Miss Intercontinental and The Miss Globe pageants respectively.
The ever beautiful Miss World, Karolina Bielawska, graced the event as a special guest.
