Montgomery Fest to include parade, fireworks and carnival

Montgomery Fest will begin Friday in Montgomery and continue through Sunday and will include music, carnival rides, food, a parade, fireworks and more.

Most Montgomery Fest activities will be in Montgomery Park, with the entrance at the corner of River and Mill streets.

The celebration begins at 5pm on Friday with a sponsor expo, beer tent, food vendors and carnival. Carnival wristbands are $35 for all rides from 5pm to 9pm on Friday.

Live entertainment on Friday on the main stage in Montgomery Park will include Who We Are from 4:00 to 5:30 p.m., Kovac & Company from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., and Semple from 8 to 10 p.m.

Saturday’s events begin at 10 a.m. with the opening of the craft fair and market and also food vendors. Also at 10 a.m. on the main stage is the Mr. Science show. Freeze until 10:45

Chalk with a Cop will also begin at 10 a.m. and continue until noon.

The petting zoo will be open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., the beer tent will be open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., and the carnival is set for noon to 10 p.m. , with the wristband for unlimited rides offered for $30 from noon to 4 p.m. and for $35 from 5 to 9 p.m.

One change from previous years is that the car show will be held on Saturday instead of Sunday. It will run from 11am to 7pm at Austin Park.

Saturday’s live music lineup includes The Lenny from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., The Wayouts from 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m., Voyage from 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m., Cadillac Groove from 5 p.m. :30 to 7:30 p.m., and Nashville Electric Company from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Sunday’s events start early with the carp fishing derby from 6am to 2pm

New Life Montgomery Church will host “Church in the Park” at 8:45 a.m. Morning Yoga in the Park will run from 10 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. and the petting zoo will run from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. :00.

The beer tent will run from 11am to 9pm with the carnival running from noon to 9pm with wristbands for unlimited rides offered for $30 from noon to 4pm: 00 and for $35 from 5 to 9 p.m.

The Jimmy Jamz Kids Show will begin outside the Village Hall at noon.

The Montgomery Festival Parade will step off at 1:00 pm on Main and Madison streets.

Music on Sunday will include South of Disorder from 11:00am to 12:30pm, Evil Burrito from 2:00pm to 4:00pm, Planet Groove from 4:30pm to 6:30pm and Hi-Infidelity from 19:00 to 21:00.

Fireworks from Austin Park will close the festival at 9:00 p.m

Due to the lack of parking in the city center area, a free shuttle will run from two locations every 30 minutes from 5am to 10pm on Friday and from 11am to 10pm on Saturday and Sunday. Shuttles will run from Lakewood Creek Elementary School at 2301 Lakewood Creek Drive and also from the U-Haul parking lot at 1900 Douglas Road.
