The launch of the Downtown Carnival will take place tomorrow, starting at 2:00 pm in Memorial Park. It is organized by the Downtown Carnival Committee, in collaboration with the Port of Spain City Corporation and Digicel.
It is themed ‘Red City’ and will consist of the usual street procession followed by an official launch ceremony in Woodford Square at 4pm.
This year, three recipients will receive the Downtown Carnival Committee’s Heritage Award 2023. The winners are Fay-Ann Lyons- Alvarez, Media Personality Jemma Jordan and Soca Icon Dexter “Blaxx” Stewart, who will be awarded after death.

The National Chutney Foundation of T&T and Randy Glasgow Productions are joining forces for it This year’s Intellectual Chutney Monarch and Chutney Land event, which will both be held in February 18 at Skinner Park.
