Over the past week there have been reports of internal conflicts within the United National Congress and even concerns about the political leader’s ability to lead.
However, at the party’s National Congress in Couva yesterday, political leader Kamla Persad Bissessar urged her supporters not to worry.
She said it would take 10 years to reconnect the party away from segregation, classism and discrimination and was ready for the next general election.

Tensions erupt during a meeting of the Agricultural Association. At the weekend there was a heated exchange over what were described as unregistered members and illegitimate leadership in the Association.
