Thirty-one-year-old Leon Lewis of Nkrumah Road in Annandale, East Coast Demerara, was arraigned on Friday before Sparendaam Magistrate Rushelle Liverpool on a charge of causing death by dangerous driving, among other charges.

It is alleged that Lewis, who is an employee of the Ministry of Health, on August 15, on the public road Lusignan, ECD, drove the motorcycle CL 4502 in a manner dangerous to the public, thereby causing the death of 53-year-old Prahalad. Sawh.

Lewis was released on $500,000 bail and is due back in court on October 13.
He will, however, appear in court today to answer charges relating to several other traffic offences.
