SANDY RIDGE – The Mountain Top Fire Company in Sandy Ridge is holding its annual Homecoming Carnival August 11 – 13.
All money raised during the event goes to help fund expenses throughout the year. The schedule of events includes:
- The Animal/Bicycle Parade will form at 6:30pm at the church on State Street/Oak Street. It will start at 19:00 and continue at the fire station. No need to register in advance. Prizes will be awarded in both categories. The ever-popular fire truck rides will begin shortly after.
The homemade pie sale will begin at 5:30 p.m- The Moore Brothers Band returns to the stage at 7 p.m
- The territory opens early at 16:00
- Pennsylvania State Police will have a DUI simulator at the station from 4-6 p.m. and will also be doing child car seat checks.
- The lineup for the Firefighter parade begins at 6 p.m. in the 600-block of Oak Street near the community park. The firemen’s parade will be held at 7:00 p.m. Anyone wishing to participate can simply arrive and line up. No need to register in advance.
- Awards will be given for emergency equipment, marching units and bands.
Odds, 50/50 and Chinese Auction prizes will be drawn at midnight on Saturday. Last year’s 50/50 winner received $3,250 and we’re working to increase that this year.
Each night will feature food, games, Bingo, odds and the best Chinese auction in the Moshannon Valley. For more information call the station at (814) 342-5014.
