STARKVILLE, Miss.-It’s the Bulldogs and the Tigers this Saturday [Sept. 3] as Mississippi State opens its 2022 football season at home against non-conference opponent the University of Memphis. Kick-off is set for 6.30pm at Davis Wade Stadium and gates open at 4.15pm.

Some helpful game day reminders are listed below.
Road closures, 4 hours before departure:
- Creelman St. from Tracy Drive to Stone Blvd.; Blvd. from Bost Drive to Bully Blvd.; Barr Ave from Bost Drive to College View Drive; College View Drive from Bailey Howell Drive to Barr Ave.; Old Bully Blvd. from Bully Blvd.; Boston Drive from Stone Blvd. to Old Bully; Bully Blvd. from Stone Blvd. to the President’s Circle; President Circle from Bully Blvd. on Morrill Street; and Morrill Road, from President Circle to Hardy Road. Parking information, cashless transactions only – debit and credit cards – for all paid public lots:
Lee Blvd.
- Lee Blvd. The parking spaces, near Bell Island, are now reserved parking and ADA parking for visiting team buses only.
- Fans wishing to remain at Bell Island may drop off tailgate supplies up to 4 hours prior to kickoff. At halftime, roads around Davis Wade Stadium are closed to reduce vehicular traffic due to the flow of pedestrian traffic.
- No trailer or vehicle is allowed to be parked overnight in these spaces.
- Any vehicles left on Lee Blvd. will be moved on Saturday morning.
McArthur Hall
- 8 parking spaces in front of McArthur Hall on Barr Ave. there are no more open parking spaces on game day. They have been converted to accommodate official game day parking needs.
- Any vehicles remaining parked in McArthur Hall will be moved on Saturday morning.
Extended Public Parking
- The new North parking garage is open and available for public parking on game days.

Transit services:
Free transit service is provided by Starkville-MSU Area Rapid Transit (SMART) on game days from various locations on and off campus to Giles Hall, Newell Grissom and the Old Main Academic Center. Below is a list of routes and stop locations that fans can use to access campus via SMART. For more on schedules, routes and stops, visit https://www.smart.msstate.edu.
From the North and South ADA Public Parking Lots:
- Campus North ADA transit service is provided from 100 Research Blvd. in the Old Main Academic Center (4 hours before the start to 2 hours after the end of the game)
- Campus South ADA transit service is available from the Animal and Dairy Science parking lot on Wise Center Drive to Newell Grissom (4 hours before kickoff to 2 hours after the game ends)
From the Research Park Public Parking Area (North Campus | Hwy 182):
- Transit service is available from other car parks in Research Park to Giles Hall (4 hours before kick-off to 2 hours after the end of the game)
From the Wise Center and Rec Plex (South Campus | Blackjack Road and Hail State Boulevard):
- Transit service is available from other Wise Center parking lots and the Scales Building to Newell Grissom (4 hours before kickoff to 2 hours after the game ends)
From the Davis Wade Express (Lampkin and Jackson Street | Starkville Daily News):
- Transit service is provided from the intersection of Lampkin Street and Jackson Street at Giles Hall (4 hours before kick-off to 2 hours after the end of the game)
SMART routes:
Lines provide continuous service Monday through Saturday, including game day from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. or up to 2 hours after the end of the game (whichever is later).
- Starkville’s SMART Main Street: Walmart Supercenter, Kroger, Avenue of Patriots, Whitfield Street, Greensboro Street, Downtown, Midtown in Old Main Academic Center: Stop locations are at Chevron at Avenue of Patriots, intersection of Whitfield and Scales streets, Greensboro Center, City Hall, Bank of Regions and the Old Main Academic Center.
- South Starkville Road SMART: Walmart Supercenter, Kroger, Medicaid, Sportsplex, Lynn Lane, Loxley Way, Wise Center and Animal Dairy Science at Newell Grissom.
- Starkville North SMART Road: Walmart Supercenter, Abernathy, Mallory Ln, JL King Park, Reed Road, OCH, Reed Place, Garrard Road West and East, Walmart Neighborhood Market, Starkville Flats to Old Main Academic.
From the Mississippi Horse Park:
- Shuttle service is available from Mississippi State Park to Newell Grissom (4 hours before kickoff to 2 hours after the game ends)
RV reservations with the Mississippi Horse Park are required.
No coolers are allowed on any MSU transit bus.
Toilet locations:
- Jane and Johns Junction at the intersection and across from Fresh Foods
- Portable equipment in the Amphitheater, Dorman Hall, Sorority Grass, Research Park and Veterinary School
- Inside Allen, Hilbun and McArthur Halls; Bost Extension “B”, Roberts and Butler Guest House-Williams Buildings; Newell Grissom Gymnasium and Football Stadium
Restaurants (Colvard Student Union food court closed):
- State Bakery, noon-4 p.m
- Starbucks, noon-4 p.m
