17-year-old Patricia Arroyo wants to fulfill her dream of participating in the World Junior Open Water Championships to be held in Beau Vallon, Seychelles between September 1 and 4, 2022.
Arroyo, who has been swimming since she was 9, has competed in several meets, most recently in Ecuador.
The event is the premier competition worldwide for 14- to 19-year-olds, and will be held in the country that already hosted the 2018 and 2019 FINA Swimming Marathon World Series.
The race includes individual age tests of 5 km (14-15 years), 7.5 km (16-17 years) and 10 km (18-19 years) for men and women. In addition, there will be a mixed team event, consisting of two men and two women, who must complete a 5 km route (4 × 1.25 km).
