NCC: We support Tobago Carnival

Despite reports that the National Carnival Commission (NCC) felt slighted for not being approached to be part of organizing Tobago’s inaugural carnival, the NCC assures there is no bad blood.

In a statement, the NCC reiterated its firm support for the upcoming event after taking note of comments to the contrary in the public domain.

The NCC said: “While the Festival planners decided not to accede to the NCC’s offer to utilize its expertise and resources for the event, the Commission has never wavered in its continued moral support for the Festival and its organizing committees.

Indeed, the Commission continues to wholeheartedly extend its best wishes for a successful, memorable and fruitful Tobago Carnival 2022.”

However, the NCC said it sees the event as part of a wider national push to promote the twin island’s carnival culture, adding that it remains keen to help, if required, in any way it can.

Further, KKK said that it is committed to the Festival achieving all its goals and sustainable development.

The NCC concluded by reiterating its commitment to stay true to its mandate of serving the people and carnival culture of Trinidad and Tobago.
