Nevis Premier Mark Brantley announces the launch of the Beso In Yourself backpack program on Friday, August 12, 2022. The program was reintroduced after a nearly two-year hiatus due to the coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic.

According to the announcement made by Premier Mark Brantley on his official Facebook handle, the initiative has been taken to provide every Primary School Child in the constituency he represents (Nevis 9) with a school bag.

The program will benefit hundreds of school-going children and is scheduled to begin at the start of the next school year in September.

This time as part of the backpack program, the bags will also include some basic school supplies that are used by students in their daily lives.

In his post, Premier Brantley stated: “I always try to give back to my constituency and I am delighted that after a break due to Covid-19, I can reintroduce my BElieveInYOURself backpack program for ALL primary school children in Nevis 9. This time the backpack will also have some basic school supplies. I expect it to be distributed well before school reopens. All thanks to God.”

Premier Brantley made the announcement on the occasion of International Youth Day, which was celebrated around the world on August 12, Friday.

International Youth Day is celebrated annually around the world on August 12 to raise awareness about cultural and legal issues related to young people.

The Prime Minister of Nevis has always been focused on the upliftment of the youth and students on the island of Nevis, which is why he announced the return of the ‘Believe In Yourself’ backpack program on this special occasion.

The distribution of backpacks along with basic school supplies will begin soon in Nevis and will be distributed to all children of the island nation before the start of the school year.
