New Zealand women tour Caribbean in September

The West Indies women’s team will face New Zealand in three ODIs and five T20Is in September and October in Antigua.

The matches will run from September 16 to October 6 and will be played at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium, North Sound.

West Indies women’s team head coach Courtney Walsh said that he is delighted to challenge his team against the New Zealand team.

“They are a very competitive team and this will make a great series for our team. Coming right after we have had the women’s regional tournaments and the women’s CPL, it will be a great fill-in for our players,” Walsh. said.

“We are currently running another specialist camp with some young players and after the women’s CPL we will have a second camp in Antigua. Additionally, the Chief Selector was with the West Indies U19 Women’s team for their Florida series and have identified some exciting prospects to consider,” added the former West Indies pacer.

Walsh said his team will have plenty of cricket ahead of the New Zealand series, and he added they will try to play a positive brand of cricket.

“We will also have an eye on the T20 World Cup around the corner. So this will give the team a chance to showcase all their skills and also us, the coaching staff, a chance to see what depth we have,” Walsh said.
