Tuesday is the day all 32 NFL teams must finalize their 53-man rosters. after shortening the lists gradually over the last few weeks, this is when we’ll see more action. Teams have until 4:00 PM ET to make their moves.
While teams will end the day with 53 players on their active rosters, the movement will not be complete. Not only will all 32 clubs focus on building their 16-man practice squads, but any surprising cuts will attract the attention of general managers, who can claim a player on waivers and make a corresponding cut.
As is the case almost every season, there will be a few of these surprise cuts that catch the NFL by surprise, so you’ll want to keep your head on a roll.
