Nicaragua plans to increase imports of Russian wheat

Nicaragua plans to import more wheat from Russia, as it is a product that is within basic needs and exempt from sanctions, Minister of Finance and Public Credit Ivan Acosta told Sputnik.

“We hope to continue to maintain trade channels and, in addition, to increase wheat imports. Right now, we are already importing the first purchase of 2023; it is already in Managua,” Acosta said.

Asked if Nicaragua is considering joining a Russian version of the SWIFT payment system. . .
