Employees no longer have an excuse for horror stories about employers not paying National Insurance Scheme (NIS) contributions on their behalf.
According to National Insurance Board Chief Executive Kim Tudor, a portal has been set up and has been running for two years now for employees to check themselves on the NIS website.
She said people who have NIS deductions from their wages can see if their employers are diligently paying the money to ensure their social safety net is intact.
Speaking at a press conference on Saturday at the NIS Culloden Road headquarters, she said:

“You can see all your contributions, you can see all the contributions from every employer you’ve ever worked for…
“What we have done over the last two years is all new registrants who come to register with NIS, register on the portal at the same time. If you go to the NIS website, just click on the portal.”
