AUBURN, Ala. – No. 3/1 Alabama football team (17-1-1) finished the regular season with a perfect 10-0 run in Southeastern Conference action as the Crimson Tide knocked off Auburn (6-6-6, 2-6- 2 SEC) on the road on Thursday. Riley Tanner scored the winning goal in the 86th gameth minute of the game to give UA a 1-0 win over the Tigers.
Alabama also won its third straight football Iron Bowl, marking the first time the Tide has won the Iron Bowl trophy three years in a row since its four-year run from 1996-99.
“Another outstanding performance from our team tonight. Every week we challenge ourselves and every week we find ways to win these games. We do it in different ways and with different players. To finish 10-0 in one of the most good in the country is a remarkable achievement. Not many programs can say they’ve done that.”
