Notting Hill: Met Police horse dies at Carnival as force set to launch investigation | UK | News

A police horse has died after falling at the Notting Hill Carnival in West London.

The Metropolitan Police confirmed on Sunday night that the horse was pronounced dead at the scene after becoming ill at around 9pm.

The force also revealed that an investigation will be launched to look into the cause of the horse’s death.

According to the Mirror, the Metropolitan Police said: “At around 9pm, a police horse on duty at the Notting Hill Carnival collapsed.

“Officers provided emergency care but the horse sadly died at the scene.

“It is too early to determine the cause of death.

“Now an investigation will follow.

“Officers form a very close bond with the animals they serve.

“Our thoughts are with all our mounted branch colleagues tonight.”
