From a physical comparison with the voice and deep text, the singers have similarities in wound and positioning
It’s not today that Brazilian POP Punk muse Day Limns is compared to Demi Lovato. Since her auditions on The Voice, the singer has been singled out for her physical resemblance to the American artist, who already seems small in the face of so much in common. From their love stories and religious experiences to the convergence in sound, the similarities lead fans to believe that in the Metaverse, Day and Demi might as well be the same person, according to fans of the singers.
But how did the comparisons begin beyond the physical?
Between 2018 and 2018, Day had introduced a more POP-focused sound, but in 2020, he released his second EP, “A Culpa é do meu Signo”, focusing on POP, emo and punk, address the fear of aging. and not being where she should be, except that she brought up topics like her sexuality and God.
Last year, the artist mixed all her influences from pop, trap, rap, punk, punk rock, rock, emocore and gave life to her first album, “Welcome to the Club”. from the reality around you and from self-sabotage. It’s about frustrating yourself, but also about staying on your feet”, this is how Day herself presents the project that talks about her religious past, heartbreaks, life’s ups and downs .All 12 songs bring stories lived by the singer before. and after coming out as LGBT, in addition to the new feelings that the pandemic brought, dreams and frustrations.
The new sounds also translate these controversial feelings present in the song. With references from POP, POP Punk, Punk Rock, Rock, Emocore, Trap and Rap, the album almost creates its own musical style, approaching what can be called “POP Emo”. In addition to the album, Day also released his first book, This Is Not Just a Love Letter, featuring short stories that draw analogies to the Bible, his sexuality, and God.
Demi Lovato embraced the origins of pop-punk, pioneering rock. And, surprisingly, on “Holly Fuck,” the American addresses traumatic questions about religion, abusive relationships, and empowerment.
And, as it all started with the aesthetic comparison, we can say that the text and sounds are reflected in the appearance of the two, which brought them even closer: black hair, slightly shorter, black and heavier makeup and, for those who had the chance to see them both on stage, know what a rockstar attitude they have at the top!
To complete the comparisons, believe it or not, the dream of both of them is to do a collaboration with Paramore, this feat can happen together, right?
It’s worth noting that Day has been a Demi fan since 2009, in addition to being part of the fanbase for years, she even wrote a song for the American muse. Thanks to Demi, Day continued to watch The X Factor and met Fifth Harmony, becoming a fan and being inspired to start posting covers on the channel. In other words, we might not have Day if we didn’t have Taurus.
All these comparisons are being raised by fans of the singers in a thread on twitter, it’s worth checking out:
