Free Poetry and Creative Writing Workshop for the Blind and Visually Impaired Addresses Brazil’s Independence Bicentennial
Registration is open for classes that take place online and are part of the Arte Faz Parte Project, Theater Protagonism and Human Rights.
With theater and creative writing activities, the production company Arte Faz Parte, Arte Educação e Negócios de Impacto Social offers blind and visually impaired people a free poetry and creative writing workshop, encouraging students to develop as a theme the bicentennial of Independence of Brazil. and your daily life. The lessons, which take place live, are part of the Theater, Protagonism and Human Rights project and will be offered from 16.09. until 21.09. always at 18:30. The result of this work will be the publication of an e-book and a list of audio poems.
“The importance of the theme comes from the combination of highlighting the independence of not only Brazil, but the public participating in the artwork, giving them the necessary prominence, allowing a call to poetic ways,” explains art educator Victor Meirelles, that. will teach workshops alongside art educator Yassu Noguchi.
This is the second edition of the Arte Faz Parte Protagonism and Human Rights project. Tools such as a screen reader, creative exercises written by a text editor with voice and transcription, and poetic proposals using audio description are used during the workshop.
“The previous edition was with people on the street and one word sums it up: exciting, seeing the joy in every look, even the distance in a square on a canvas, but inspiring. And we expect no less in this current edition, to see this audience finally receiving your e-book, listening to your poetry and playing in your moment, smiling and filling us with joy and poetry”, says Victor .
