COLUMBUS, Ohio – For the first time in nine years, the nation’s premier conference field hockey tournament will be played in Columbus. The Buckeyes, who finished 11-7 during the regular season, open postseason play against second-seeded Maryland (16-2, 7-1) on Thursday at 2 p.m.

History of the Big Ten Tournament
- The last time Ohio State played in the Big Ten Tournament — during the spring of 2021 — it made a memorable run to the conference championship game.
- The Buckeyes knocked off Penn State and Northwestern along the way, eventually falling in the title game to Michigan.
- Ohio State has one Big Ten Tournament title in its history: In 2001, the Buckeyes beat Indiana, Michigan and Iowa en route to the championship.
- The last time Ohio State hosted the Big Ten Tournament was 2013. That year, Ohio State defeated Northwestern in the quarterfinals before losing an overtime game in the semifinals against Michigan State.

- Action begins with three quarterfinal games on Thursday. 4, Michigan faces the no. 5 Iowa at 11 a.m., followed by No. 7 Ohio State and No. 2 Maryland at 2 p.m.
- Penn State has a bye and will face the Michigan/Iowa winner in the first of two semifinals Friday at 1:30 p.m. The other semi-finals are at 16.00. .
