No. 2 Ohio State vs. Iowa has been a game that is almost impossible to describe as the Buckeyes lead the Hawkeyes 26-10 at halftime. The levels of incompetence displayed by both sides in the opening 30 minutes have been truly astounding. The Buckeyes entered the game as 29-point favorites but haven’t been able to pull away despite multiple Iowa turnovers and starting four of their seven first-half possessions in Hawkeyes territory.
The game started with Iowa quarterback Spencer Petras throwing an interception on first down, but the Hawkeyes defense held the Buckeyes to a field goal on the drive. That’s been the case repeatedly as Ohio State kicker Noah Ruggles has made four field goals. The Buckeyes have converted just three of their nine third-and-fourth down attempts, and two of those came on the team’s 75-yard field goal.
In addition, Ohio State has relied heavily on Iowa’s offensive inability to keep them comfortable in this game. Stay tuned here with CBS Sports for live scores, updates and highlights from Iowa at Ohio State.
