Old Carnival Foods in Circleville Vandalized with Racist, Homophobic, and Sexual Images, ID Sought

Circleville – The new owner of the old Carnival grocery store located on North Court Street is seeking ID for two teenagers/young adults who vandalized the newly renovated property.

Jim Reitano said he was shocked and disappointed by what happened in the back of his newly renovated property.

“There’s a lot of damage done, it’s the whole back of the building, but it’s not just the damage, the images are disappointing.”

Reitano shared images of the two boys taking time out to paint. Indecent images of male genitalia, homophobic slurs and racial slurs.

“Sadly it looks like these kids were aiming to be as offensive as they could be, and it’s not the first time I’ve been targeted in this country.”

The owner told me that when he bought the building, many of the same images were spray painted on the building, and after cleaning it up, he was once hit with some graffiti. That’s when he set up the cameras in hopes of stopping the situation.

“Now we know who is doing it, we just need names and we will prosecute. This has cost thousands and is also very damaging to the community. When I reported this I told them I want to press charges 100%.

The two suspects were at the location on Sunday around 10:00
