Opinion: More political prisoners and persecution of the Church – Ortega’s dictatorship strengthens its grip on power

(Opinion) Political violence in Nicaragua is getting worse. The Sandinista dictatorship has succeeded in establishing a one-party regime, controlling all municipalities and branches of government.

The list of political prisoners has increased to 235, a situation that aggravates the human rights crisis in the country with the cooperation of the army and the police.

Impunity is rampant in the Central American nation.
