Music at the Museum continues with its 25th anniversary celebrations in 2022 featuring,
month by month, from November to April 2023, “Os Imortais da Música Brasileira e os
International Geniuses”. The festival will highlight the rich production of Brazilian classical music and, in contrast, will exalt world classical music. The free concerts will take place at
cultural spaces in Rio de Janeiro (95%) and São Paulo (5%). It is carried out through the Federal Law
Boosting Culture, the event is sponsored by VIBRA and has the support of BTG-Pactual and Estácio de Sá University.
In the program, tributes to Villa-Lobos, Father José Mauricio, Carlos Gomes, Chiquinha
Gonzaga, Ernesto Nazareth, Francisco Mignone, Pixinguinha, Ary Barroso, Radamés Gnatalli, Guerra Peixe, Jacó do Mandolim, Waldir Azevedo, Tom Jobim, among others. A mix of classic and popular. And as a counterpoint, international geniuses such as: Bach, Beethoven, Chopin, Handel, Vivaldi, Tchaicowsky, Rachmaninoff, Satie, Newcomn, Gherswin, etc.
others presented by musicians of great national and international expression.
In addition to the big names, the highlights of the November program are: the party of
National Day of Culture (November 5) and the closing of the 200th anniversary celebrations
of the Independence of Brazil bringing from Vienna the musician Herbert Lindsberger (viola) and his
Academia Leopoldina, which will play works by Mozart and Schubert.
The concerts will be complemented by lectures on the history of Brazilian music
composers and their compositions and also about music in the history of mankind and its
the most famous authors. Parallel to the festival, the RioWindsFestival will also take place, which has
curated by oboist Harold Emert and has been taking place for several years in November with the participation of important names of wind instruments from Brazil and abroad.
