TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Alabama Anna Parkhomenko recorded four straight wins over the weekend (July 23-25) to win the 2022 ITA Summer Tour at the Tuscaloosa Tennis Center. Parkhomenko had a dominant run at the tournament, dropping a total of just eight matches on her way to the crown.
After opening the tournament with a 6-1, 6-0 win over Gabriella De Jesus, Parkhomenko went on to a perfect 6-0, 6-0 quarterfinal against Miriam Grosmann. She won 6-1, 6-3 against Emma Roberts in the semifinal round to earn a spot in the championship match against Elizabeth Verizona. In the final, Parkhomenko jumped out to an early 6-0 lead in the first set, followed by a 6-3 decision in the second set to win the tournament.
