Bright carnival is the latest ship to join the Carnival cruise line’s fleet, and while the ship has been reimagined to offer Carnival’s signature experiences and fun ship atmosphere, she still retains much of her classic and beloved Italian character.
Bright carnival It still shows Italian design
Familiar guests with the ship as ex Costa Luminosa will be pleased to know that many of the ship’s unique design elements have remained unchanged, particularly her unique Italian flair that sets her apart from other pleasure boats.
“While Carnival Luminosa will feel like a Carnival ship with our signature service and offerings, the ship will offer its own unique features that our guests will love.” said Christine Duffy, president of Carnival Cruise Line.
Before it was renamed Bright carnivalthe Vista/Spirit class ship underwent a major renovation of the dry dock which brought on board various carnival venues and refreshed public spaces, as well as new carnival body colors, but did not take away the Italian elegance of the ship.
Still on board are 120 Murano glass light fixtures and chandeliers, soothing colors that reflect a European ambiance, a sunset deck bar perfect for enjoying a drink with stunning views, and one of the fleet’s largest spas spanning two deck with one of the most expansive. thermal area for additional wellness practices and relaxation.
A two-deck sliding sky dome above the ship’s large pool deck also remains, allowing the area to be used in all weathers for a range of activities and activities and new deck games popular with Carnival Cruise Line guests.
Folk sculpture to stand on
Of particular interest is an iconic sculpture in the ship’s 10-deck atrium, “Reclining Woman 2004,” which was commissioned for Costa Luminosa by world-renowned Colombian artist Fernando Botero.
The sculpture, more than 11 meters tall and weighing almost a ton, depicts a female figure, dreaming in a reclining position with a strange facial expression. It serves as a lucky charm for the ship, its crew and guests. Botero has created similar full-length “Woman” sculptures found in Madrid, Armenia, London and other places.
On board Bright carnival, “Woman Reclining 2004” is sure to be a great meeting place for travelers as well as a photo hotspot for selfies and group shots. The sculpture can also be featured on board orientation tours, scavenger hunts and other activities.
Many of Carnival’s cruise ships have unique focal points, often in central atrium spaces or along the public promenade where they can be enjoyed by all guests, though few are as distinctive as the 2004 Reclining Woman.
