PASSING THROUGH – Caribbean Muslims Passing Through by Farhad

I am a current
Passing through the swamps
carry with me
Memories of yesterday
And the hopes of tomorrow
I wash the stones down
With pure love
And get their sediments
Away with me
Those who pass
Wonder at my leisurely pace
Meandering around rocks and debris
Some accompany me as we move
On a reunion trip
Others sit and watch
Pleased with the sights and sounds
Here in the meadow I paint a beautiful background
Right next to the bridge, a couple’s paradise
Wherever I go, the sky is my friend
Never leave my side
Rain, storm or beautiful sunshine
And when the time comes
I meet the river
And surrender myself
For all its glory.
