GREENVILLE, NC – The East Carolina women’s soccer team will travel to the House of Blue on Sunday to take on the Memphis Tigers. Kickoff is scheduled for 2 p.m. and the game will be available to stream on ESPN+.

The 0-0 tie represented the Pirates’ sixth defensive shutout of the season and earned the team another point in AAC play. As a result of her performance in the game, sophomore Lindsey Aiken earned her first career AAC Defensive Player of the Week honors on Monday, the third member of East Carolina’s defensive line to do so this season.

Memphis enters the contest with a 4-4-4 record against some strong competition, including a pair of games against opponents ranked at then-No. 18 Ole Miss and No. 5 Virginia. Statistically, Jocelyn Alonzo leads the Tigers, and the conference, with five assists. Alonzo also leads the team with nine points while Mya Jones leads Memphis with four goals. On the season, three goalies have started for the Tigers, combining for four shutouts and 1.58 goals allowed per contest.
History of the Series
Memphis has dominated the all-time series with a 16-3-3 record dating back to 2002. Despite that, the Pirates won the final game, a 2-1 victory over then-No. 23 Tigers at Johnson Stadium. The win was just the third straight in program history and first since 1999.
