Police Investigating Shooting in Centreville Area of Kitchener

Waterloo Region, Ontario – Waterloo Regional Police are investigating a shooting in the Centerville area of ​​Kitchener.

On September 22, 2022, at approximately 6:45 a.m., police received a report that a person had been shot in the area of ​​Weber Street East and Kinzie Avenue.

Upon arrival, police found a 65-year-old Kitchener man suffering from a gunshot wound.

The man was transported to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Investigators believe this was a targeted incident.

There will be an increased police presence in the area throughout the day as detectives carry out a canvass.

The investigation is ongoing by members of the Waterloo Regional Police Service’s Major Crimes Unit, General Investigations Unit and Forensic Identification Unit.
