Waterloo Region, Ontario – Waterloo Regional Police have laid charges after two people were stabbed in Kitchener.
On September 2, 2022, at approximately 7:20 p.m., police responded to the area of Eby Street South and King Street East for a report of a stabbing.
Upon arrival, officers found two people with stab wounds. Both victims were taken to the hospital, one local and one outside the region, with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police then located and arrested two people a short distance away without incident.
As a result of the investigation, two 15-year-olds, one from Kitchener and one from Waterloo, have been jointly charged with aggravated assault (two counts), assault with a weapon (two counts) and one count of possession of a weapon for the purpose dangerous.
The investigation is ongoing by members of the SPRU General Investigations Unit.
Both accused have been remanded in custody for a bail hearing.
