Nicholas Pooran will lead the T&T Red Force into battle in the CG Insurance Super50 Cup, which begins on October 30 in Trinidad and Antigua.
The 27-year-old, who led West Indies in the 2022 ICC T20 World Cup, has been named captain of an 18-man squad to defend the title.
T&T won a record 13th Super50 Cup title in 2021 under Kieron Pollard.
Pollard, who retired from international cricket earlier this year, is not part of the squad for the 2022 tour.
Pooran as well as Akeal Hosein, Yannic Cariah and Evin Lewis were part of the West Indies squad during their disastrous 2022 ICC T20 World Cup campaign.
The team includes mystery spinner Sunil Narine, batsman Darren Bravo as well as players Shannon Gabriel, Anderson Phillip and Jayden Seales.
David Furlonge is going after his second consecutive Super50 Cup title after leading the team to victory in 2021.
Trinidad and Tobago has been drawn in Zone A with the Windward Islands Volcanoes, Guyana Harpy Eagles and Combined Campuses and Colleges.
