Posse do Presidente da Ordem dos músicos do Brasil

On August 1, at the OCB Rio de Janeiro headquarters, the Inauguration Ceremony of the New Board of Directors of the Rio de Janeiro Regional Council of the Order of Musicians of Brazil took place.

On the occasion presented by actress and singer Maria Ceiça, the New Board was sworn in in the presence of category authorities and guests. Chairman of the Federal Council, Mr. Gervásio Braz, during his speech, congratulated the current President of OMB RJ, Mr. Celso Santhana, for his brilliant work and commitment at the head of the institution.

President Celso Santhana was honored for his 55-year career as a musician, producer, arranger, conductor, multi-instrumentalist and music director. Names like Alcione, Zezé Motta, Watusi, Grupo Raça, Arlindo Cruz and Chris Duran are some of the big names Celso Santhana has worked with. Today, as chairman of the OMB RJ Regional Council, he aims to promote music and protect the rights and interests of musicians.

The solemnity was also attended by Coral Carioca, from OMB RJ, who lit up the ceremony with a medley of the late Tom Jobim’s classics: “Ela É Carioca, Wave and Samba do Avião”, in addition to Ben’s incredible singing. E. King “Stand By Me.”

The New Board of Directors took office on June 15, 2022 through elections held on June 1, 2022.
