Pre-K jumpstarts Halloween with carnival festivities | Community

Smiles and laughter from Pre-K students filled a local school when staff provided a Halloween carnival for students during their school day on Friday.

Students from all three of Duncan’s Pre-K facilities, including Will Rogers, Woodrow Wilson and Elk Crossing, participated in a Halloween carnival on Friday, October 28 at Will Rogers.

Kelle Jeffrey, principal of Duncan Public Schools, said they were excited to continue the carnival tradition.

Jeffrey said for the past 17 years, Duncan Pre-K has hosted a fall carnival in a safe environment for students and parents to come together and have fun.

“It started in Jane Loafman’s class from her parents at Horace Mann,” she said. “We kept the tradition going as it continues to grow every year.”

Jeffrey said during the course of the event, students rotated through eight stations.

Stations included, bowling, bean bag toss, fishing, bounce houses, cake walks and much more.

“All of our students love this event as it provides family fun,” she said. “Staff love taking part by decorating our gym, dressing up and getting themselves into character throughout the day.”

At the community event, Jeffrey said they are excited to get parents involved.

“We look forward to this event every year,” she said.
