Pueblo police have issued an arrest warrant for Tyler J. Mitchell, charging him with first-degree murder in connection with the May death of Chelsea Longshore.
Officers found Longshore dead May 31 at a home on North Elizabeth Street after several people reported they hadn’t seen him in days and asked police to conduct a welfare check.
Mitchell was declared a person of interest shortly after Longshore’s body was found, and he was arrested on several unrelated misdemeanor warrants, but was not formally charged with the murder at the time.
Mitchell is a 33-year-old white male, approximately 5-foot-8 and 140 pounds. He has a large tattoo on his left forearm that reads “Est. 1989″. His right arm is deformed, according to police, and he usually wears it in a shoulder sling.
Mitchell is often seen on Pueblo’s north side, but may be on his way to the Wichita, Kansas, area, according to police.
Mitchell, police say, should be considered dangerous and members of the public should not approach him.
