Rashid Khan and Adam Hose to play Hero CPL 2022

Rashid Khan will join the St Kitts & Nevis Patriots squad for the 2022 Hero Caribbean Premier League (CPL).

The vastly experienced Afghan leg-spinner will replace Wanindu Hasaranga who is no longer available for this year’s tournament.

England top-order batsman Adam Hose will also be coming to the Hero CPL, joining the Saint Lucia Kings. Hose, who has scored 2381 T20 runs at an average of 32.17, will replace Tim David who has been called up for international duty with Australia.

First launched in 2013, the Hero Caribbean Premier League (CPL) is a franchise-based cricket tournament, T20 format, which combines two of the most compelling aspects of Caribbean life – dramatic cricket and a vibrant carnival atmosphere.

Broadcast and digital viewership has crossed 500 million in both 2020 and 2021 to make it one of the most watched cricket leagues in the world. St Kitts & Nevis Patriots are the current Hero CPL champions and the other competing teams are Barbados Royals, Guyana Amazon Warriors, Jamaica Tallawahs, Saint Lucia Kings and Trinbago Knight Riders.

Hero CPL Men’s Tournament 2022 runs from 31 August 31 to 30 September. The host countries for 2022 are St Kitts & Nevis, Saint Lucia, Trinidad & Tobago and Guyana.

In 2022, the Massy Women’s Caribbean Premier League (WCPL) took place for the first time with Trinbago Knight Riders being crowned champions.

The tournament also featured the Barbados Royals and the Guyana Amazon Warriors.
