Members of the Prime Video streaming service weren’t sure what to expect when Carnival Row debuted. The fantasy series portrays a vibrant and gritty universe where magical animals and humans coexist in a chaotic metropolis called Burgue. Oh, and Orlando Bloom is excellent as Philo, a detective tracking down a terrifying serial killer.
The Burgue is home to a number of different fairy races, including fairies/Fae and half-human, half-goat fauns, as well as witches, goblins, and werewolves. So it’s safe to assume that Burgue in the drama series is a pretty murky place to live. The fact that many political groups are vying for control in the mess doesn’t help.
The first season of Carnival Row closes with a shocking revelation about Filo’s identity and some dire consequences for anyone who is even slightly different in Burgue, where a vicious apartheid has been established. It’s clear that things will be very different when we meet Filo and the other residents of Burgue.
Carnival Row Season 2 Trailer
Unfortunately, a trailer for Season 2 of Carnival Row has not been released yet. That’s probably because Amazon is still working on post-production on the fantasy series. However, a teaser trailer for the upcoming episodes should be released in the near future.
To keep viewers interested a little longer, Carnival Row’s Twitter account thankfully posted some behind-the-scenes images of the cast and crew at work.
Orlando Bloom is seen in the new photos with a bloodied face, hinting that everyone’s favorite investigator Philo will get into a fight at some point in the show. There is also a close-up of wealthy socialite Faun, Agreus (David Gyasi) and Imogen Spurnrose (Merchant Tamzin) chatting passionately.
It would be intriguing to see if the lovers have settled in a new place or if the authorities have pushed them back to the troubled city after they decided to leave Burgue at the end of season 1. Vignette Stonemoss’ character, played by Cara Delevigne , also appears, although nothing is revealed as to what will happen to him in the following part of the narrative.
The plot of season 2 of the carnival row
Sorry, but because Amazon hasn’t released the official story of Carnival Row Season 2 yet, it’s unclear what the main mystery or motivation will be. Season two, however, will likely focus on how the breakup affects Burgue and all of its residents.
The first season centers on Philo going through a series of brutal murders before realizing he is the Darkasher, an evil creature made of dead bodies.
The monster was in charge when Vignette killed Piety Breakspear (Indira Varma), who was searching for the identity of her husband’s illegitimate son.
When the authorities separate the Fae and other supernatural beings from “regular” humans, Burgue descends into anarchy and the season ends.
However, Philo decides to stay with Vignette out of sympathy after admitting that he is half Fae.
Chancellor Jonah Breakspear’s (Artemas Froushan) racial laws are likely to be challenged by the Fae. It will be intriguing to see how Erik Oleson, the new showrunner, approaches it from the perspective of Carnival Row’s neo-noir fantasy.
Agrees and Imogen’s story will take place next season, Tamzin Merchant said in an interview with Entertainment Weekly. “Imogen and Agreus board the ship at the end of Season 1, and everything is great for the first five minutes of Season 2 — and then things go really bad for them.”
Cast Carnival Row Season 2
So who will be returning to Burgue in Season 2 of Carnival Row? As Philo and Vignette Stonemoss are being persecuted by Burgue’s rulers, Orlando Bloom and Cara Delevigne will both return to their respective roles.
Of course, Tamzin Merchant and David Gyasi will return as star-crossed lovers Agreus and Imogen Spurnrose. However, due to the newly established apartheid, their relationship will definitely be threatened. In relation to the Spurnrose clan, Andrew Gower will reprise his role as Imogen’s brother Ezra.
Tourmaline Larou, Vignette’s former lover, also appears in season 2, and Karla Crome returns to reprise her role as the courtesan. As Interim Chancellor Jonah Breakspear, Artemas Froushan will also return. His position will probably involve governing Burgue with an iron grip.
According to Deadline, Jamie Harris’ Sergeant Dombey is now a series regular, giving him more screen time this time around. He often expresses his racist beliefs in Season 1, which will give him more confidence going into Season 2.
Several other characters are sure to appear in season 2, but Amazon has yet to reveal who else will be joining the cast. To save the magical society from its oppressors, Philo and Vignette may need to find some new friends.
Where to watch Carnival Row season 2?
Season 2 of Carnival Row will eventually become accessible for streaming on Amazon Prime Video.
Carnival Row Season 2 Release Date
Unfortunately, Amazon has not announced a release date for Season 2 of Carnival Row. Filming on the second season ended in September 2021, however, that doesn’t mean it’s currently ready.
Of course, the ongoing epidemic caused delays in the Carnival Row project in 2020. It is quite sad because if the delay had not happened, season 2 would already be available to the public.
