In one week, there has been a 330% increase in confirmed Covid-19 cases across the state of Rio de Janeiro.
There were 4,368 registrations of the disease in the week from October 30 to November 5. In the following week, from November 6 to November 12, the number rose to 18,799 cases.
On Friday, 10,633 new cases of the disease were confirmed.
Given the increase in cases, the state Department of Health recommended the use of masks, which remains optional.
