Rodolfo Vieira, 4 vezes campeão mundial Jiu-Jitsu: “Já fiz minha história”

Fighter Rodolfo Vieira first burst onto the international scene in 2009 when he won the World Cup qualifiers in northern Brazil as a brown belt in the mixed brown-black division. He even won the World Championship in his division with a victory over two-time world champion Braulio Estima, still a brown belt, which earned him the nickname “the black belt hunter”. The fighter was the guest last Thursday (27) on the podcast “Na Gringa”, in Orlando, United States.

Rodolfo, who currently belongs to one of the biggest MMA organizations in the world, revealed in a conversation led by Hugo Máximo and Tiago Batatinha, that he would not return to compete in Jiu Jitsu, where it all started and established himself as an athlete . “I’ve even done a few marriage fights, but to really come back and compete with the guys that are in this scenario today, I’d have to train a lot, I don’t like it anymore, I’ve already made my story.” says Vieira.

In the conversation, Vieira surprises him and says that one of the fights he liked the most in Jiu-Jitsu was the one he lost to Marcus Buchecha. “In my fight, which I lost to Buchecha in 2012, it was one of the ones I liked the most because it had everything, a failed submission attempt on both sides, it was very good,” he says.

Going into MMA was a challenge, Rodolfo says he was afraid to fight, but since he no longer wanted to compete in Jiu-Jitsu, he made the decision to go. “When it would speak louder than fear, then I knew the time had come.” said Rudolph.
